So, the European Parliament's International Trade Committee voted in early April to adopt

the Commission's proposal that the EU withdraw from the Energy

Charter Treaty. The Belgian EU Presidency reached a deal with the European Commission

and Member States on the EU's withdrawal from the ECT and this has now been approved
