And I guess the genesis for this discussion was obviously the decision to take our Iran policy in a whole new direction with the targeted

killing of Kasam Salamani by the Trump administration

and the threatening both of significant new sanctions

against Iran and also apparently Iraq for objecting to us carrying out that that is that that

killing assassination whatever you want to call it on their sweat.

They said, can you not do that and we said, we're going to starve you to death and your kids.

Yeah, yeah pretty much we said we do over to the fuck we want and don't mouth off or you'll regret it. Well, it's interesting because we were engaged in nation-building,

as I understood it in Iraq,

and we're theoretically like standing up some new nation there and now we're going to starve them out.

Which sort of also begs the question of what the fuck was 10 or 15 years all about if that's the case.

Saddam and as I recall it those were pretty crippling but on the entire 90s
