My guest this week is Ryan Lee. Ryan is an educator, breeder, and researcher specializing in the

diversity of the cannabis species. Ryan comes from a background in neuroscience, focusing on the

endocannabinoid system, but later focusing on plant breeding technologies and the study of the

molecular aspects of the cannabis genome and how we can use science to shape and improve the plant.

Hey Ryan, thanks for coming on the podcast today. Thanks for having me, Tad's pleasure.

Absolutely. Can you tell listeners a little bit about yourself and your background?

Yeah, I'm a cannabis breeder. I've been breeding cannabis for roughly 30 years. I've got an

undergrad degree in neuroscience, and I studied plant breeding in biotechnology at a post-grad

level. So I've really been kind of looking at cannabis from a scientific level, more or less

quite seriously for the last 25 plus years at least and growing for about 30

so I've got a fair amount experience in the in the space yeah I've got a seed company in

Europe called camera genetics which some people may know and I operate as a consultant and genetic supplier to companies in North America,

well, really Canada, and then globally through our legal export system.

So that's kind of where I come from.

Yeah, I first heard you speak at Emerald Cup a few years ago now with Seth Crawford and Jeremy Plum.

And I know you and Jeremy are good friends.

And he said that you were the one I need to talk to when it came to this topic.
