What would it feel like if someone said, okay, sorry, you got a penis, you have to be a boy?

What would that feel like to you?

It's sad, and I would say, how do you know it's not a rule?

If you've heard previous episodes of this podcast, you know that at age three, my

apparently male child told me that he was actually she.

Four very interesting and challenging years have passed since then.

My child is now seven.

And today I'm convinced that I'm not the mother of a son.

Instead I'm convinced that I'm not the mother of a son.

Instead, I'm convinced that I'm the mother of a transgender daughter.

But I still have a lot of questions. They're pretty much the same questions I've had all along. And they're probably the questions I've had all along.

And they're probably the questions you wonder about too.

Can such a young child really know that she's transgender?

What if it's just a phase? What are the chances of that?

And if it is a phase, what would be the telltale signs to look for?

If she were to change her mind and decide to be a boy after all, will she be

totally screwed up because I let her live as a girl for several years? And if she continues to live as a girl, which seems pretty

likely at this point. What the hell is it going to be like when she's a teenager?

Or when she wants to start dating?

What's it going to be like when she's a high school girl with a penis?

I guess what I really want to know is what does a healthy normal transgender childhood look like?

And how do I parent her in order to give her the best possible chance
