alcoholic hi everybody and oh gosh um i was just sitting there trying to be very attentive. David, that was really very enjoyable.

I was trying very hard to pay attention and not be thinking about myself.

And my talk, and I'm praying and asking God to take over.

And then my, I was sitting there and I thought my mind is blank

I don't know if I have anything to say and then I thought well maybe it worked maybe God took over so

listen to David and um it was it was magnificent it brought back a lot of memories to me about when

I surrendered I took step one before I came here. I didn't know I was taking

step one, but before I get into that, I just want to thank all of you, the committee,

and Chris, so much for inviting me to come here. This has, I have been so excited about coming

here. And I try not to get excited about things too much anymore because I get

excited and then I might, you know, a big high and a big low and a big high and a big low. So I've

been trying to just, you know, not be excited, but I am thrilled and I am honored and I was just beside

myself about thinking about coming here. I spent, it seems like, several years early on in Alcoholics Anonymous, feeling sorry for myself

and thinking, I'll never go anywhere, I'll never be anybody, I'll never do anything.

Life is just going to be so dreary without alcohol.

And, you know, speaking from me did it come naturally?

I, you know, I used to hide at meetings when it came time. Some of our meetings, people would just

get called on, you know, randomly, and I would hide and get into my purse and sit behind a post

and be all nervous. then but then we're so
