It all feels tiresome, to be honest. That's a good point to reach, to get tired of an old pattern like that.

Then you're ready to let go. As the Cause in Miracles puts it, comparison is one of the favorite ego devices

to keep the ego going,

or it keeps itself going,

especially by comparing,
