BMW's Neuer-Classel platform represents a significant shift in the company's approach to how they go about building EVs.

Welcome back to EVE News Daily and welcome to a special bonus edition of the podcast, looking at the long-awaited reinvention of the BMW electric vehicles. My name is Martin Lee, and I've been writing this for several weeks on and off. I've just been putting notes into a file on my desktop. I've been wanting to talk about Neuer Klaaser for a while. And as BMW readies it for prime time, I think now's the time. I sat down this evening and assemble all of my notes into some sort of order that I think

makes sense. Now, BMW's Neuer Klaser represents a complete overhaul of their EV architecture,

introducing the

sixth generation, or Gen 6, E-Drive technology.

This represents the most substantial shift in the company's approach to vehicle design and

manufacturing since the original Neuer classes of the 1960s.

This new electric vehicle architecture promises to deliver improvements in efficiency,

range, charging speed and sustainability whilst at the same time reducing costs by up to 50%.

The platform will debut with the upcoming BMW IX3. Now we've seen some recent spice shots of VAT almost ready,

and so now's a good time to have a little deep dive, I think is what they call it,

into the platform on which BMW will pin all of their EV hopes.

IX3 will begin production later this year at BMW's new plant in Hungary. The Neuaclasser

is designed to underpin future EVs across BMW, mini, and even the Rolls-Royce brands.

The advances in battery technology, motor design and manufacturing processes positioned

Neoclasser as one of the most significant developments in BMW's recent history

and a decisive strategic move in the increasingly competitive EV market.

So what are the key things that I've been looking at and getting quite excited about?
