SCP 8833, 1976. Conspiracy theories, especially those related to tragedies are popular because people often feel the need to ascribe methods to what so often comes down to randomness.

Many people struggle to come to terms with the idea that the world is a fairly random, cruel

place, and so instead they look to convoluted plans that, well, perhaps equally cruel,

are far less random.

I bring this up due to today's SCP, 8833, which is connected to the class of 76 canon, and is

therefore steeped in tragedy.

While the principal events that kick off the misery of Kirk Lawnwood High School seem to

be simple random tragedy.

There is some method to the madness, but unlike any given conspiracy theory,

piecing that method together is, of course, anomalously difficult.

Let's take a look.

SCP 8833 is a copy of the 1976 edition Kirk Lawnwood High School Yearbook,

previously belonging to student Carolyn Kirk.

The yearbook shows mild wear and use, with the front cover bearing a three-aero design in the words,

Reflections of 76, and KLHS-1976.

The back is blank, except for a small amount of charring along the spine, while an inscription

inside of the back cover reads, We've had a great year, haven't we? Don't worry about waiting for the reunion.

I'm sure we'll see each other soon enough.
