Travelers who are minding their budgets have long looked to two low-cost airline brands, Spirit and Frontier.

In fact, the two airlines complement each other so well in this space.

You may recall we told you about their attempted merger a couple of years ago.

Well, part of the secret to keeping their prices lower than other airlines is their so-called a la carte pricing.

In other words, when you book a ticket, you get a seat on the plane. But these budget carriers often leave out what

other airlines include in their ticket prices. So you have a seat, but if you want to pick your

seat, well, that's extra. Have any baggage? You're going to pay another fee. Want to snack while in flight? Yep,

pull out your credit card. But the winds of change may be upon us. Spirit has announced the end of

change in cancellation fees. As the company put it earlier this month, quote, cancellation fees are
