First Kings chapter 19, verse four. But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness and came and sat down under a broom tree

and he asked that he might die saying it is enough now o lord take away my life for i am no better than my father's. What a verse. So just to get the context here,

this is Elijah that First Kings 19 is talking about. And in First Kings 18, in the verses right

before this, he prayed and fire fell from heaven. He prayed and rain came from the sky for the first time in years.

Like he has just been on a spiritual mountain top high. And then in the beginning of this chapter,

1st Kings 19, Jezebel, King Ahab's wife, threatens him, and Elijah goes running, running away from God,

running away from what God has called him to do, and he runs a day's journey into the wilderness,

sits down under a tree, and asks that he might die, saying, it's enough. Now, Lord, take away my life.

Like, that's the lowest point you can get to. God, I don't even want to go on, not just with the

ministry you've called me to. I don't want to go on with life. And when I read this verse about Elijah, I think there is not one of us that is

above or beyond getting to this point in our lives, where we wonder whether we can go on,

how we can go on, or if we can go on. This is one of the things I love most about the Bible,

how it is so real and identifies with realities that we all experience, like any one of us.

And some of you may be there today in some way to some degree. God, how can I go on? God,

can I go on? Or maybe even God, I don't really

want to go on. And what I love about this passage is what happens right after this, because God
