I wanted to create this short video to really emphasize that grass-fed beef is not the same as grass-finished beef.

Grass-finished beef vs. grass-fed beef (grain-finished beef)

Grass-finished beef:

 • 0 grains

 • All grass

 • Takes 30 months

Grain-finished beef:

 • 150 days GMO grains

 • Takes between 10-14 months

 • Digestive gas (10x more acid in their intestines and less fermentation)

Welcome to the Dr. Berg's Healthy Kito and Interminute fasting podcast, where Dr. Berg takes you on the journey for the truth about getting healthy and losing healthy weight. So I wanted to create this quick video to really emphasize that grass-fed beef is not the same as grass-finished beef.

0:54.0

There's a really important difference.

0:56.0

The reason why certain farmers do grains to finish or fat in their cattle

1:01.0

is because it's very difficult to fat in the cattle on grass.

1:05.6

Grain finished beef takes between 10 to 14 months.

1:11.0

Okay?

1:12.0

Grass finished beef could take up to 30 months.

1:15.0

In fact, the company, U.S. Wellness Meats, if you look on their website,

1:18.0

they actually grow their cattle for 30 months.

1:21.0

And by the way, I don't get any kickbacks from U.S.

1:23.8

wellness meets. I don't get any discounts. I just think they're a really good

1:27.9

company and I do recommend them. So just because something says it's grass fed doesn't mean it's grass finished.

1:35.0

It has to say it's grass finished because if it doesn't say it's grass finished, it's grain finished,

1:41.0

okay? And they're gonna use gMO grains unless it says organic. So that would be the big difference is the time it takes to grow and also the cow's exposure to the chemicals in the genetically modified grains.

1:54.0

The other problem with the grain finish is these cows have a lot of problems digestive-wise.

2:00.0

They get a lot of gas, 10 times more acid in their intestines. They have incomplete fermentation, so they

2:07.4

have a lot more digestion and this is probably why they use more antibiotics.

2:11.6

Cows that are grass fed and grass finished have a lot less problems

2:14.4
