What's the greatest political movie ever? It was a question prompted by a message from

Red Box podcast listener Tom Barnaby, who suggested we did an episode on political films.

So I turned to readers of the Red Box Morning email and Twitter to

ask people to nominate their favorite political films. In only a few hours we

had more than 700 suggestions covering 250 different films.

Later in the episode we'll speak to Kevin Mayer, the Times Chief Film Critic,

and he'll tell us the ones which really are worth watching and the ones that are best avoided.

But as we had so many entries and frankly we've not got anything else worth doing,

we're going to run a World Cup of political films on Twitter.
