I'm Matt Chorley. This is apparently the News Podcast of the Year

according to the Press Awards. A massive thank you to all of you for listening, but for sending in all of your ideas and feedback and

suggestions that have made such an impact on the podcast over the past 12 months.

A matter of thank you also to our Times colleagues, reporters and columnists who are very much the

backbone of the podcast but also all the other pundits and pollsters and

comedians and the occasional politician who we allow on the podcast as well. But a special thank you to Alex

Jakes who's the producer of the podcast who you may have heard at the Christmas

Special when I talked about that this is not normal stand-up show. He's the one

it makes it sound as good as it is.

Particularly during last year and I spent so much time out and about recording things on my phone

or with a mobile recording kit and just sending him hours and hours of absolute nonsense

and he edited it all together to produce some pretty

incredible episodes.

The most proud of I think is the situation grim but worsening which is

charge to sum up the atmosphere in Westminster when Brexit was dominating so much. I mean that feels like a very long time

ago now but so many episodes from last year I enjoyed Anna Subrie going walking the

part with Anna Subby going running with Jeremy Hunt didn't really enjoy and

it was a slightly strange thing to listen to, but all memorable

episodes, interviewing with David Cameron about what was like to be Prime Minister, the episode on
