Evening everybody. Welcome to another episode of Why Are You Laughing a history of comedy podcast.

And today I am pleased to introduce to you Greg Giroldo's Midlife Vices, one of my favorite comedy

specials slash albums as a kid. Today we use the album version. There's a

reason I did that. It's because, A, it's longer. So we get a little more in there. You don't have

the commercial breaks. You don't have the curses bleeped out. But mainly because Comedy Central is

less likely to slap our wrists. So hopefully this episode stays up because we use the album version.

But it did air on Comedy Central in 2009, just a year before Geraldo died, sadly.

But luckily, he got this out there in the nick of time and recorded in New York, which comes up later. Not necessarily

his, all his fans are there. That does make an appearance later. But Craig Giroldo, if you're

watching this not really being too familiar with him, An underrated genius.

Like truly a guy.

We say this about Patrice all the time,

but it's also true of Geraldo where it's like if that voice was around now,

we really missed out.

He probably would have been hosting the Daily Show after John Stewart.
