The Trump administration has given another ultimatum to Harvard University.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, Secretary Christy Noem has written a letter to the school,

threatening to strip its ability to enroll international students if it doesn't

turn over records on international students, quote, illegal and violent activities.

A Harvard spokesperson said in a statement that the university is aware of the letter, but they

stand by their previous comment that they, quote, will not surrender its independence or relinquish

its constitutional rights. According to university data, international students make up more

than a quarter of its enrollment in its 2024 to 2025 academic year.

Maryland Democrat Senator Chris Van Hollen has traveled to El Salvador to push for the return

of mistakenly deported father Kilma Abrego Garcia.

Last month's deportation of the Maryland resident and Salvadorian National has become a flashpoint

in the fight over the Trump administration's hardline deportation push.

Yesterday, Van Hollen told reporters that he was unable to visit Abrago Garcia and the maximum

security mega prison he's being held in. Instead, the Democrat announced he met with the

Salvadorian Vice President and vowed to keep pressing for answers and the man's

release.
