0:55.0	I would have to agree with you. The medical system, I don't think the individual doctor goes out in the world and thinks I'm going to fail a woman. I think the way we've built the system was for the basic white guy, you know, like, and at least in the U.S. And so all of the studies, you know, women were not even required
1:14.0	legally to be in studies until 1993 from the NIH. Okay. So we have an entire genera. Now,
1:20.0	that happened because thalidomide was being used in pregnant women for nausea and ended up causing
1:26.5	birth defects. And that freaked everyone out, understandably.
1:29.4	But they removed all women from studies after that just in case they might get pregnant.
1:32.9	Then when you talk to researchers, it's much more expensive and harder to study women because of
1:37.3	their cycles or because of Perry or postmenopause. And men are just predictable. So they just
1:42.4	study mostly men and just take those things and infer
1:46.3	them to women when we don't really understand the gender differences and the sex differences
1:50.7	and how cardiovascular medications affect. So greatest example, statins, right? We use statins left
1:57.1	and right to treat high cholesterol. Most women will have significant elevations of cholesterol through menopause.
