Welcome to the Bible Study. I'm Stephen Lawson, president of One Passion Ministries.

And each week I will teach verse by verse through the passage of scripture so that you can better understand the word of God

and put it into practice in your life. Join me now as we look together into this

section of the Bible. So let's go to the Lord in prayer. Father as always we are humbling we need to

humble ourselves beneath the authority of your word and be taught and to learn.

As we've come this morning, none of us have the answers to anything.

You have the answers to everything.

And so we ask now that you instruct us through pages of scripture.

I pray that the Holy Spirit will be our teacher.

Use me simply as a lesser instructor, open our eyes and ears to the truth in Christ's

name.

Amen.

Okay, we're in 1st John chapter 5 and today we're going to be looking at

verse 4 and I'm just going to read verse 4 right now and we're still in this cluster of verses that focus upon

being born again and so first John 5 verse 4 for whatever is born of God

overcomes the world and this is the victory that has overcome the world

Our faith

And there is so much in this verse

that we really need to dig into.

But this is the fifth and final distinguishing mark of the new birth

that we've been looking at.
