In this podcast, I go in search of the northern damselfly.

Now, this rare Scottish species is listed as endangered,

and there are now serious concerns about its future.

Recently, work has been taking place in the north of Scotland to, well, give it a helping hand.

I met up with ecologist Stephen Corcoran and together we went

goodling at the RSPB Inch Marsh's Nature Reserve in the Highlands in the hope of spotting this

elusive insect. We're looking at one of the new ponds that have been put in for northern damselfly,

so that's a rare species of damsel fly found primarily in the north of Scotland.

And this pond here is one of two in this location that was put in in 2022,

so they're less than two years old.
