Maya Rose is an environmental activist and diversity campaigner.

They started by discussing the pandemic and its consequences for environmental politics.

I don't know. I think it's been a very interesting period in the UK, especially. Like, I think there's

been a lot of really weird, interesting political stuff going on, not necessarily in terms of

nature, but in general, which has been very interesting to watch maybe from the outside, not

super fun when you're living in the UK, I would say. But I think the most

interesting thing, because obviously I am an environmental person, I come from that perspective,

has been all the stuff to do with the environment. So we've basically had all our environmental

stuff pushed to the side last March, and it hadn't really been touched at all and had been very

steadfastly avoided in fact until suddenly all these announcements came out about these very big

bold well well bold for Boris proclamations about the environment which I found very interesting

and I that I feel like with the state of politics at the

moment, I feel like I'm constantly playing a game and we're all trying to figure out what everyone's up

to. Because my first instinct, when I saw that, wasn't like, oh, that's nice. Johnson's doing

something. The environment, I was like, what's he up to? What's his plan? The thing about

America is all the Americans that live there are like, why's he up to? What's his plan? The thing about America is all the

Americans that live there are like, why does everyone else care about our election? It's like,

because it affects literally everyone in the world and also because you're there all the time
