I dealt with that breakdown by buying as much music from 2016 as I possibly could.

As a result, I now own over 700 albums that came out in 2016 and I'm convinced it's the

greatest year for music of all time.

But it's not enough me being convinced.

We're going to talk about that album. This week, my guest is Jen Ives.

And we're talking about everywhere at the end of time, stage one by The Caretaker.

The Caretaker is the alias of James Layland Kirby, an electronic producer, lives in Krakow, but is British, I believe.

Everywhere at the end of time is a six-hour-long project, but don't worry, I've not sent Jen Ives a six-hour-long project.

It was released stage by stage,. The first one, stage one,

was released in 2016. The final one was released in 2019. And the whole project, the idea is,

is that the persona of the caretaker has dementia. And throughout the whole project,

you're experiencing what that is like, sonically.

That's a bit of a heavy concept.

And weirdly, it's become quite a cult hit.

There's a lot of people who will eulogise about this album.

There are people who challenge themselves

to listen to the whole thing
