Jen, welcome back to Amped Up.

Thank you so much for having me back on.

Yeah, you know, here we are in this moment of deep suffering, deep injustice, and deep inequality, and the

Democratic Party and Joe Biden are refusing to support Medicare for

all during this pandemic. They're refusing to support the for all during this pandemic.

They're refusing to support the Green New Deal

during the climate crisis,

and they're refusing to support universal basic income

during the economic crisis.

So I mean this sincerely. What is even the point of the

Democratic Party? I'm trying to figure that out myself at this point. I joined

the Democratic Party in 1989 and at that point to me it represented the

Labor Party that was our Labor Party that was the you know the pro-choice pro-labor, pro-environment, anti-war and what's

fascinating is is that I'm still exactly where I was when I did that and yet

they are nowhere to be found and so what they're doing is they

come at us and make it sound like we're so radical we're so left when in fact we're exactly where they are supposed to be in this country right now.

We do not have a labor party and everybody needs to understand that.

We have no labor party in this country we have two corporate parties and so

those of us that are still trying to do it within the Democratic party we're

struggling to pull them back to where they were.

It isn't that we're trying to pull them to the left.
