Congressional District. Jason, welcome to Ampt Up.

It is an absolute pleasure to be here with you today, Ryan.

I'm really thrilled to talk to you.

Yeah, me too.

Since this is your first time on the podcast,

why did you give us a little bit about your background

and why you're running for Congress?

Okay, well, you know, I've been an activist for 30 years.

I got my start in activism.

When I was 19 years old, I was a sophomore

at the University of Washington.

Our country invaded Iraq with the Desert Storm

invasion and I got out in the streets with with fellow activists and you know we camped

out on front of the federal building.

We engaged with police, you know, at the barriers in Seattle.

And, you know, it wasn't anything like what we're seeing right now. You know the police were you just you know they're

protecting people but but it's interesting how where we are right now with the protests that are going on. But you know I've had an anti-war activism my whole life and along the way I've joined environmental groups in terms of activism.

I've marched in the streets with the Answer Coalition to support Palestinian Rights.

And Black Lives Matter, we actually shut a freeway down here in Seattle a few years ago with the

Black Lives Matter protests.

And so my heart is in direct action and street activism.
