Is there a connection? And more importantly, we'll either be found. I'm Charlie and welcome to

0:27.2

Crime Lines. Welcome to Crime Lines. Welcome to Crime Lines. This episode is a case that I actually covered on my Patreon years ago.

0:42.6

I made a list of the old Patreon cases that I need to redo and release on the main feed,

0:49.2

because these are cases that either are unsolved or they have an unsolved element to them, and they frankly

0:55.8

never should have been put behind a paywall to begin with. So expect to hear a few more of these

1:01.8

old Patreon ones over the next year or so. They'll mostly be on my second Wednesday cold case

1:07.8

episodes. I don't really have a year's worth of them, I don't think,

1:11.5

but I will be spreading them out. I could just repost the audio that I initially recorded,

1:17.8

but the longer I've been podcasting, the better I am at finding information and presenting it.

1:23.8

And there are more resources being uploaded to my favorite place,

1:29.0

newspapers.com, constantly. So I think it's better to just redo them so that they're the best

1:35.4

that they can be. So even if you heard this on Patreon, there is a little bit more information

1:40.2

in this episode and it's presented a little differently. My friend Marla, who is local to my area,

1:46.8

recommended this case to me back when I first covered it, so I want to give her credit.

1:51.9

We're going to start with Joe Ellen Weigle, who was born in Kansas City in March of 1952.

1:57.9

She and her family moved to the suburb of Lee Summit, Missouri when she was about seven years old.

2:03.2

I have not seen any reporting indicating that Joe Ellen was adopted, and if she wasn't,

2:09.8

I'm sure her arrival surprised her parents. When her parents, Joe and Esther, had their first

2:16.1

daughter, they were 23 and 20 years old.

2:19.6

I don't think they expected it to take 22 years before their second daughter arrived when they were in their early to mid-40s.
