know that you are jumping into the last week in a six-week series for a Joe shopping fast.

It is definitely for we who have struggled with consumerism, but it's also been good just

if you are seriously rethinking your priorities in life and you know you need to change in some

areas. If you've missed the past five weeks in the series, go back and listen because truly

they all work together to come to this important point. Always very short, about five to eight

minutes. So I hope you'll go and do that if you miss them as we dive into week six in our series,

success. Kind of like the sound of

that, right? So before I go any further, let me first say that although today is technically

the last day in our six weeks series, I'm going to do a post-fast show on

Wednesday next Wednesday to help you know a few ways to live in a state of success and, yes, even

recovery, because the Christian life is a long obedience to God, as I talk about in Joe, and it's

truly about staying in the journey. Here we are week six. I remember when I did my

one year shopping fast, much, much longer, obviously, than a six-week emphasis like this,

but truly fasted from shopping for a year. When I actually came off of it, I was a bit euphoric.

I felt a mix of sort of, I've done it, and I can't believe it's over finally, some relief in there.

And also, mostly confidence that I was going to be able to manage this from this point forward.

But it was mixed with a bit of fear that some of my old habits might creep up.

And years later, some of them have.

It hasn't been a success only journey in the sense that I have

always done everything perfect and everything right. Perfection doesn't exist. But I haven't
