official episode of our simplifying series and our season five. Wow, friends, it's been a

great season with you once again. And as always, thank you for being with me. Thank you for being

loyal listeners. And most of all, thank you for passing on the show.

I so appreciate the way that you have responded to this show, the way that you've shared it with your friends and family, and really exposed other people to what we're doing here.

I appreciate it more than I could even say to you. Well, I'm ready to dive in today, so we're going to head

straight into some important things. So for the last time this season, cue it up, Cam. One

Great Thing. Here we go. My one great thing today is a labor of love, a big one that's coming to you in the early fall.

In fact, when you hear from me next with new shows, it will be about time for you to get this labor of love.

You might have guessed it, my next book, The Hard Good, Showing Up for God to Work in You

when you want to shut down. Now listen, I know that a lot of us have wanted to shut down

or have shut down from all the mess of the past few years. I know a lot of us have had hard

things and we have been bossed around by the emotions that have come with those things. I know

that life is hard and sometimes we struggle to know how any good at all can come from it.

But God has given me such a word for you about this, a fresh perspective on the word good.

A new way to think about life purpose, as I've said. Some really important

practical things that I believe will change how God does his greatest work in and through us.

Yes, still to come in this world. And it's all in the new books. So many important things we talk

about. We talk about jealousy. We talk about hard truth and uncomfortable

conversation that the church needs to have that we need to have. We talk about accepting things

that we wish were something different. We talk about opening up our heart again when it's been
