Oh, I'm going back in the archives of my own life for this one, to the tune of when my oldest son, who's now 24 years old, was just four months old.

I'm going to tell you a true story about something God nudged me to do back then, continuing this month's conversation about some overlooked ways to serve God on the Jesus Over Everything show.

Here's what I know. Often in my life, God has nudged me to serve in areas where there was a need that I myself

had and I couldn't find something at the time to meet that particular need.

Now, that happened back in 1998 when my oldest son was born and I was a new mom

and I really needed an outlet to not only fellowship with other moms, but also be encouraged

and inspired and get some insights that as a new mom I just didn't have. My precious baby was a difficult baby. He had

terrible acid reflux and night terrors. And it was, it was just really a lot for us as new

parents. And I was honestly struggling with it all. I really was. So in the midst of this, I thought to myself,

you know, I need a mom's group. Why is there no mom's group at my church? Now, I attended a very

large church at the time. And there was no mom's group. I just couldn't even believe it. And I thought,

honestly, I just don't understand why there is

no sort of support mom's group when we clearly needed it. I clearly needed it. And I can't say

if it was the Lord or if it was me, I'm not sure which one, but I thought I need to start one.

It probably was the Lord, I have to say, because I'm not sure at the time that I had the brain cells to start something like that.

It was a little bit of insanity.

So I have to say it was probably the Lord.
