My friend just got home from being out of town. Having flown to see her parents who live in another

city, they are now very elderly and they can no longer drive or really cook for themselves anymore.

A lot of those sort of basic things, they are in poor health and they have some cognitive

problems, all of those things that just sort of come

along with being up there in age. And so my friend went to see them and we always talk when she

gets home because I understand how hard it is to see your parents like that. And so when you

live in a different state and then you see them after not seeing them for a while,

it's particularly difficult and somewhat jarring because the digression is just, it's just right there in your face. It's those parents that you grew up with that were strong and vibrant

and they told you what to do. And now they are in this state that is

pretty helpless and you're now the parent. And just seeing that is just so difficult. And so

my girlfriend had been spending all the days and nights with them from being out of town,

of course, and just some difficult things had transpired

while she was with them. And I said to her, you know, you are being Jesus to your parents. And it

just struck me so deeply as we talked about that aspect of being Jesus to her parents, because I got that picture of her being literal hands
