Summary

Do you doubt that God really is big enough for your problems? Even if we don't say it out loud, unbelief can creep in as we navigate problems and hard circumstances in this world. In this episode, Lisa unpacks why the statement, "God is bigger than our man-made messes" really is true, and how we find relief in the One who holds the whole world in his hands.   Links: Order God Knows Leave a Review for the JOE Show   Connect with Lisa: Website Lisa Whittle - Instagram Lisa Whittle - Facebook Jesus Over Everything - Instagram

Here's something Christians like to say a lot. God is bigger than our problems. I think we know that. We want to

0:06.8

believe that and we certainly have heard it a lot in the faith community. But do we truly believe it deep down

0:12.3

that he is big enough for the complications of our life? Because honestly, life is pretty complicated.

I'm your host Lisa Whittle, and if you're new here, welcome. If you've been around, you know how

0:25.4

this goes. Jesus, honesty, and straight talk. Let's go. God knows your private temptations. God

0:37.4

knows the financial worries you have. God knows the quiet mental health battles you face, but don't feel you can talk about it. God knows how much you feel like you're failing right now. Being a mother, a wife, a leader of a church. God knows how hard it is for you to make safe friendships when you've been hurt.

God knows how the criticism has taken its toll.

bigger than all our man-made messes. And it's true. He is. But this is one of those things I think

1:26.2

that makes for a great quote. But what does it actually

1:28.8

mean? So I want to break it down. I think it means, first of all, there's nothing too messy that he

1:34.7

won't forgive. One of the things a friend of mine was struggling with recently was having to come

1:38.9

clean to her family about some of the things she was keeping to herself that she was doing.

1:43.5

And in that, she kept

1:44.8

just focusing on the mess. She knew all the true things about God. She knew her family would keep

1:51.6

loving her, but the mess, it was just so messy. We're always going to be overwhelmed by the

1:56.8

problems and complications of our life if we stare at the mess. So here's what I want to tell you.

2:02.2

Stop looking at the mess. Look at the person who can help clean it up. Run to him. There is nothing

that he will not forgive. Number two, God's wisdom being beyond ours brings Holy Spirit insight
