Welcome to our new project, the Daily Bible Devotional. The goal is to help you understand and apply

scripture as you go through a New Testament Bible read five days a week, Monday through Friday,

as we move from Matthew straight through to Revelation. In under four minutes each morning, we will recap the chapter,

make some application, present thought questions for the day, and offer a prayer together.

Good morning. Welcome to our daily Bible devotional study this time from John chapter 3 in Jesus

interaction with Nicodemus. Nicodemus, a Jewish leader, comes to Jesus by night to proclaim his belief.

Jesus states that a man must be born again of water and the spirit to enter the kingdom of God.

Nicodemus struggles to understand this concept.

Jesus continues by announcing himself to be the son of God, and stating that he is sent by God as the

saving light of the world, and that he will be, quote, lifted up on the cross, so that all who believe

might be saved. John the Baptist spreads this message,

baptizing those who come to him with open, repentant hearts. He states openly that Jesus is greater

than him, the son of God from heaven, and that all who believe in Jesus and obey him will be saved

for all eternity. I believe that, and I know you do as well. Here's some things we can

use. Salvation is only possible through Jesus Christ. He has come from heaven to show us the way.

He was lifted up in death to become the payment for sin. Jesus is the light of God, the hope

of restoration in this world of darkness. We must believe in

him to be saved. This means, quote, practicing the truth and a willingness to also, quote, obey the

sun. We must be born again in water to be renewed by the gift of the Holy Spirit. Jesus was

baptizing people, as was John the Baptist. But baptism is only the
