After Labour moved to formally back a second referendum, we were joined by

the shadow chancellor and the close ally of Jeremy Corbyn, John McDonald. Plus, Rory Stewart,

known as one of the most eloquent defenders, shall we say, of the government's Brexit deal,

was also with us.

Now, I've lost count of the number of interviews where we've tried to get clarity from Labour front benches about the party's position on a second referendum.

And the number of podcasts where we've actually dissected what they say to try and work out what's going on.

But this week, we finally got some real movement and a lot more clarity.

The party is now formally in favour of a second referendum.

Now, we don't know exactly how this will play out, what the question would be, or even how they make it happen.

But undoubtedly, this is an important step in the

evolution of their Brexit policy. And big moves on Brexit are a bit like buses. You wait months

for one and then two come along at once. This week, Theresa May also moved, promising that if her

reworked deal is rejected by MPs, then she'll give them a vote before leaving with no deal
