After nine Labour MPs quit their party, eight of them to join the new independent group,

we spoke to one of them, Chakramuna, about his decision.

Plus, Barry Gardner, the Shadow International Trade Secretary, who stayed in the that British politics fractured.

After months, even years of speculation about breakaways and new parties, this week it finally happened.

Well, sort of.

On Monday, seven Labour MPs, including high-profile names like Chukramuna and Luciana Berger, quit the party, citing a mixture of concerns including Brexit, anti-Semitism and Jeremy Corbyn's fitness to be Prime Minister.

They were joined on Tuesday by Joan Ryan before three outspoken conservative moderates,

Heidi Allen, Sarah Williston and Anna Suebury got in on the act.

These 11 MPs have now formed the Independent Group.

It's not a party yet, but this could be the start of one of the biggest realignments in British politics in over 30 years.

And more could yet follow.

but not joined the independent group, while other names are rumoured to be heading for the exit
