I spoke to the Shadow Health Secretary John Ashworth. I also talked Brexit with the former

Conservative leader Lord Howard, and we spoke to Jerry Adams about the situation in Northern Ireland. The Chief Executive of NHS England Simon Stevens this week said he can no longer guarantee that all non-urgent operations will take place within the 18-week target period.

He also laid out plans for 150 urgent treatment centres

and for GP appointments at evenings and weekends. Now, this all comes amid a constant stream of

bad news for the NHS, with targets regularly being missed. The Labour Party has made it very

clear. It thinks the government is doing a bad job.

So what does their health spokesman, John Ashworth, make of Simon Stevens' plans?
