Genetic genealogy has been used in recent years to solve crimes that have gone cold for decades.

And now the father of John B'nai Ramsey hopes it'll solve his daughter's high-profile murder.

John Ramsey telling Fox News Digital he plans to meet with the Boulder Police Chief next month with a genealogy research rep at his side.

To explain what they can and can't do.

This as he pushes local authorities to allow an outside lab to test evidence from his daughter's

1996 case because the late 90s sampling police have...

Ramsey wants police to retest certain evidence for traces of DNA, including external male DNA

that federal officials

disclosed in 1997. He says there are more than 20 items in the case that have never been tested.
