Hi guys, welcome back to It's Me Tanks. How are you? You know, this is a really tough one. There are

sometimes when I have to record that I just don't feel like it and I don't, you know, I don't really

have anything cheery to say. I know for many of you, I am a distraction. This podcast is a distraction

from things that are going on in the world, but sometimes things are so heavy. It's hard to

distract. And that's how I feel about the fires in L.A. So if you'll allow me, I'm just going to

talk about my thoughts for a few minutes.

And then I thought something semi-practical I could do to hopefully help people who need a

little bit of a brain break is go over all of the things that I consumed this media-wise,

this break books and articles and movies and TV shows so that if

you need a recommendation, you can dive in. The destruction, I'm recording this on Friday,

January 10th, by the way, so two days before, I think it's, yeah, I think it's the 13th now when it's coming

out. I don't know, I'm dyslexic. Don't say. I mean, it's hard to know where to start. It's hard to

know where to begin. The destruction is so cataclysmic. It's so sad. It's hard to know what words to use. I feel like we need a new word for sad.

I feel like we need a new word for devastation. So many people have lost everything.

And it's not just stuff, you know? It's not just things. These are people's homes that they've worked for their entire lives.

These are people where people live.

This is where people grew up.

This is where people's kids took their first steps.

It's where people had holidays and birthdays, and it's where people people lived and I was talking to my mom about it

and I was like you know as humans we create these little shelters right the world is tough out

there and we create these little shelters and you know no matter what it is it is, it's ours. And we fill it with

little talismans and trinkets that we collect along the way that represent things to us in our
