In 2011, college student Lauren Spierer (20) went out for a night on the town with some friends. Witnesses reported that she seemed inebriated, and at one point she left both her shoes and her phone behind at a bar.

The last public sighting of Lauren was on CCTV at 2.51am on June 3, 2011.  She seemingly vanished into the night. Her keys and purse would be found discarded along the route she took that night.

Lauren came into contact with multiple men on the night she vanished. All of the men denied having any knowledge about Lauren’s whereabouts and obtained legal representation.

Could there have been an accident that caused Lauren’s death and a coverup has ensued?  Or was foul play involved?

In this episode of the True Crime Society Podcast, we discuss the 2011 disappearance of Lauren Spierer.

As you guys can probably tell,

0:39.6

hopefully I got a new microphone. The last episode last week, my microphone was broken. And as I said,

0:48.4

I don't have just backup microphones. I mean, maybe as our podcast grows, maybe I'll get a backup microphone,

0:56.5

but there's really no need to like have two microphones. They're kind of expensive. So thank you

1:02.6

all for bearing with. We got a lot of nice supportive comments about it, which I really appreciate

1:08.0

because I do get a lot of anxiety if I feel like the podcast

1:11.9

isn't up to the level we want it to be. But there's really, I couldn't do anything about it.

1:18.1

It's either that or there's no episode. So I'd rather put out the episode if it was audible,

1:23.1

which it was. I know we've spoken a bit in the past about how we were nervous about the Spotify comments

1:28.5

but 95% of them are so nice like there's always going to be people who don't like us and that's fine

1:34.4

but 95% of them this week have been so kind and nice like I always get a little bit nervous when it

1:39.0

says there's one to read but they're like even there was just another one I love this podcast thank

1:42.6

you so everyone's been very lovely and kind.

1:46.9

Yeah, we really appreciate that because it's scary having a podcast and putting yourself out to the world to be

1:53.9

criticized and judged. Definitely. It's not fun. Wait, I didn't say the date. It is November 7th, 2024. I didn't, I have to say a weather

2:03.8

update too. I feel like it's been a while. The weather is warmer than it should be for November.

2:09.6

It was just like 80 degrees the other day and broke a record. So that's where we're at here.
