For a lot of people, for many of us, birds have become an increasingly important part of our lives in recent times.

Not least for my companion today, Ewan McElwraith, who spent an enormous part of this year delving into the history and folklore of birds.

This goes back to the start of lockdown when obviously we couldn't get about the country as much as we usually did.

So I thought it would be interesting to look into the folklore, the mythology, and more importantly,

the song of the birds. And it's just grown arms and legs. For the last year and a half,

we've had a different bird every week, and it's been incredibly popular.

It's been such a fascinating thing to do, and it really rammed home how important birds and probably more importantly, birds are just woven into the fabric of our lives, are really, really important.

Yeah, quite.

It's interesting. Birds were a lifesaver for our guest today in Scotland outdoors.
