Well, I'm going to put you back to work for another five minutes.

You know, recently you joined us at the National Conference for Ligonier Ministries and in 2017 of course we had to talk

about the Reformation.

And we had you speak specifically about the doctrine of

vocation. Now when you think of Luther, we think of the solas, we think of the

authority of scripture, we think of the necessity of justification by faith alone

through grace alone and Christ alone.

But one of those crucial doctrines of Luther is vocation. Could you expand on that a little bit for us?

You know, a lot of people do, first of all, think of justification as the material principle of reformation.

Scripture alone is the formal principle.

But one historian has said, actually,

in terms of the greatest impact on the culture,

not necessarily the church, but the culture, it was the doctrine of

vocation that made the biggest difference long term.

And you can sort of see why, because people who aren't Christians who aren't going to church
