He's making an exception for oil imports, only imposing a 10% tariff on Canadian and Mexican oil.

That's what he should be putting the tariff on to save the planet.

But of course, he lowers the tariff on oil from Mexico and Canada.

He also placed a 10% tariff across the board on all Chinese imports.

The tariffs go into effect on Tuesday.

Trump's executive orders state that these tariffs only go one way.

He warned Mexico, Canada, and China that should they decide to retaliate, he will increase the

tariffs. Canada reportedly has a plan to retaliate with tariffs specifically targeting red states,

putting tariffs on goods produced by red states.

This is something China did in the lead up to the 2020 presidential election.
