All right, let's dive into this week's episode. So I had the opportunity to

speak with Dr. Barbara D. Savage, a historian and the Geraldine R. Siegel professor of American social thought at the University of Pennsylvania.

She has a new book out called Merse Tate, the Global Odyssey of a Black Woman scholar, and she recently won the Association

for the Study of African American Life and History Best Book Award for 2024 for this very book that we're going to dive

into so without any further ado here she is Dr. Barbara Savage. Well Barbara thank you so much for joining me. Barbara,
