Summary

Union strikes at ports, Missile strikes in the Middle East, and an interesting VP debate. With so much instability happening at once, the question is, could this election be one of the most important in our lifetimes? That gets said every election cycle, but could it be true this time? Also, does the Longshoreman's Union have a good case of shutting down ports right as a massive hurricane has caused huge damage in places like NC, and are we about to see war in the Middle East…again? We will review all these topics and answer your questions on this episode.

Okay. So I have heard all of the complaints about my mic. So today I'm going to go full

0:05.3

ASMR voice, the entire podcast. All right, listen, we got an interesting, we got an

0:12.5

interested show for you all today. A lot of things going on, a lot of things going on. Now,

0:16.7

I'm going to repeat a phrase that I have heard so many times. In fact, ever since I got into

0:20.6

politics, it became like this common thing all the time. You'd show up to a meeting and inevitably, the guy hosting the meeting or the elected official would get up and be like, this is the most important election of our lifetime. And I always thought it was just lame. I really did. I thought

0:38.8

it was just ridiculous because not every single election can be the most important of our lifetime.

0:44.6

But as you look around the world, what's been going on? You look at union strikes shutting down

0:50.6

ports all over the country. You look at missile strikes in the Middle East. You look at what's been going on with the economy, what's been going on with inflation,

0:56.7

what's going on with immigration. I think it's actually fair to say that this might be

1:00.7

at least one of, if not the most important election within my lifetime. So I'm 45.

1:08.3

And so the vice presidential debate mattered. Now, obviously, we all recognize that the

1:12.7

vice president doesn't have a great deal of power and authority in and of themselves, but they

1:16.6

do have a great deal of influence. And in many respects, it could be auditioning for the top job

1:21.7

at some point. And so understanding who the respective parties have picked to fill that position is important.

1:28.7

And so today what we're going to go through is going to go through kind of a litany of things that are taking place this week because it has been a busy week.

1:34.0

So we're going to talk about the Union strikes.

1:35.3

We're going to talk about the flooding in North Carolina.

1:37.1

We're going to talk about the missile strikes over in the Middle East and what's going on in Lebanon. And we're going to do all that right before we go into the vice presidential debate,

1:45.7

because I want us to sit there and analyze some of the comments that were made,

1:48.8

the performances that were giving, some of the funny things that took place,

1:51.7

some of the serious things that took place,

1:52.9

and some of the analysis that just blows my mind.
