Hello listeners, I'm your host Amara, and this is Black Girl Gone, I tell the story of Ralicia Rudd, who was eight years old when she disappeared on March 1st, 2014 in Washington, D.C.

At the time, Relishia was living in a shelter with her mother and three siblings.

Not long after they moved in, her mother befriended a janitor at the shelter who took special interest in

relishia and she began allowing relishia to spend time with him. At first it

appeared to be a great opportunity for its little girl whose life in the shelter had been difficult

But when Vrelisha fails to show up for school for weeks

Red flags were raised. A month after she vanished, the person she was last

seen with is found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Ten years later, Relicia is still missing, and the mystery surrounding what happened to her in March 2014 remains.
