And I'm Jack Welch. Pull up a chair and we're in for a real ride today.

It's Mormon chapter 7, 8, and 9.

We get the last words of our beloved prophet Mormon, and then his son has to record his death and his last messages.

I almost look at Moroni as sort of a coda in music or a little conclusion.

He doesn't have much space, he's limited, and he just gives his last will and testament not knowing that he'll be able to write more.

And so we get actually three endings by Moronai, but this is the first one, chapters eight and I.

But in chapter seven, Mormon is in an interesting position because, you know, he wasn't allowed to preach so many years to his people.

There was just a short window of time that he was allowed to testify.

So I sort of feel like he had been silenced as a prophet. So now in chapter seven, he wants to

testify and he is an open prophet. His mouth is opened again and he can actually say what he

wanted to say all these years to his people.

We actually don't know.

When he composed this last little few verses of farewell, it may have been, I know, the battles

had been going on and people had been moving, and he may have been thinking or even saying this,

you wonder when the final battle is over and Mormon dies, how much he does have a little

time. Yeah, he says there's 24 people left and I'm still one of them and I am riding. So we know

it's after the battle, but he hasn't died. Yeah. Well, obviously he hasn't died yet.

Okay, okay, okay. Although I did wear black today because of his death.

So did I. Yeah, we're in mourning with our beloved prophets passing. Yeah.

You're absolutely right. It's, you know, one of the final things that he says. And, wow,

listen to what he says. But this plea to the future audience is so generous.
