And I'm Jack Welch, and wow, here we are closing in on the end of this wonderful year we've been able to spend studying the Book of Mormon.

And these are some of my favorite chapters in the whole Book of Mormon, Moronai 7, 8, and 9.

It's kind of the icing on the cake.

There's some troubled times here, but when things get tough, the tough get going.

And we really have here a lot of words by Mormon.

In this lesson, we have three documents, all written by Mormon. All throughout the

rest of the Book of Mormon, we've only heard Mormon's voice as he has abridged and kind of commented

on other people. But now we get first person direct statements by Mormon. So as you read Moroni chapter 7, 8, and 9, these three documents, listen for Mormon's

voice and his concerns, his style, because it's not Mormon abridging someone else,

but speaking directly to us.

No, but he certainly knows his scriptures, and he does quote the Savior a lot from

Third Nephi and other texts as well in his letters and in his speech or sermon.

Yeah, that's an excellent point, and we can refer to these as we go along.

But one of the great things you can do in especially Moronai chapter 7 is to go and hunt

for all of the allusions to things that Jesus spoke in Third Nephi and particularly

in the what we call the sermon at the temple.

As I look at chapter 7 in particular, I love the themes of entering into the rest of the Lord and praying with our heart, learning how to discern good and evil to be able to judge

righteous judgment and how to serve God better, how to follow the light of Christ.

And to me, this is then, he says, what brings the administration of angels and what brings hope and faith and charity and miracles.
