So let me just start by saying this.

For those of you that are beginning a journey with Jesus,

I have been walking with him for 50 years.

And he is more intriguing, more marvelous, more daring, with every year.

And I realize that I barely have scratched the surface of working with who he really is.

God, by very nature, Jesus, you read the book and you realize what the disciples were experienced

when they walk with him, trying to keep up with him and never really understanding what he was

doing. And then him patiently enjoying them fumbling around and, you know, trying to put it together

and believing in them. And there's something kind of precious that I don't want to make it my sermon today,

but I encourage you to look at it.

When Jesus was in Gassimony and he came down on all the powers of the hell were pressing

upon him, there's a great sermon series by Charles Spurgeon on the on the agony and death

of Christ, which is Spurgeon wrestled with depression. And so he could get into the etymology,

and the origin of the Greek word for agony because he wrestled with a spirit. He could hardly

function, but he fought it for his whole life

and he says that the word for agony means to have your head plunged under water seeking oxygen

of finding none so that's that mental stage so when the blood is coming from his head and he's in

gistemite all of hell was trying to break down the
