She spent 30 years in prison for murdering the Tejano superstar Selena, and now she says it's

time to be released. Yolanda Saldivar is seeking parole in the new year, with the New York

Post reporting she filed paperwork to be released. Her eligibility date is March 30th. A rep at the Texas

Department of Criminal Justice told the Post, the 64-year-old killer has no blemishes on her

prison record. Sal Devar fatally shot 23-year-old

Selena Quintanilla Perez on March 31st, 1995 in a hotel room in Corpus Christi during a confrontation.

Selina believed that Sal Devar, a founder of her fan club, had embezzled more than $60,000,

and the singer was planning to fire her. Sal Devar has long maintained she didn't mean to

kill Selena and was actually meaning to kill herself. A jury didn't believe a story, though,

and slapped her with life in prison with the possibility of parole after 30 years. Inmates at the

prison where Sal Devar is being held told the post that she's constantly a target. There's more on
