Here we go. Here we go. We begin this morning with late breaking news. The Senate has just approved a stopgap measure to prevent a government shutdown. The continuing resolution now heads to Joe Biden's desk for his signature. Once again, Washington narrowly averted a shutdown, which would have furloughed government workers days

before Christmas. This was the third continuing resolution that got voted on. The first was a

1,547-page bipartisan bill meticulously crafted by Speaker Mike Johnson, but it was rejected at the 11th hour

by Elon Musk, who wanted the debt ceiling lifted now so Biden would be blamed for adding

to the debt when Trump becomes president and gives tax cuts to the wealthy.

Right now, the U.S. national debt is approximately $36 trillion,

and it's continuing to climb.

It will, if we allow these tax cuts for the wealthy to go through,

it will add $8 to $10 trillion more to the debt.

but President-elect Elon Musk, according to Mike Johnson, said,

the bill is the best we can do, given the circumstances.
