Hi, my name is Josh. And for the last, I don't know how many years we would normally do this

intention setting, talk and ceremony on New Year's Eve, but this wonderful space where we have been hosting our events was not available.

They had another group that got in before us.

So this kind of actually works.

It's early enough in the year and it's nice to actually do it

on our normal night so that if you ever want to join us

where right now the first Tuesday of every month.

The challenge of giving a New Year's

Buddhist intention setting talk is that on the one hand I like to

distinguish it between our Judeo-Christian concepts of resolutions which are very different and talk also about why so many of the

intentions we set for ourselves either one are unrealistic or two even if we did attain them they wouldn't really make much difference in our well-being.

So I'm also going to be talking about the actual types of intentions that

making it a significant difference in how we feel.

And so hopefully you'll get something from the talk.

And then what we're gonna do

is we're gonna have a meditation where we put into practice

the tools.
