Summary

This week I spoke with Nicolas Glynos, who is Vice President of the Student Association for Psychedelic Studies and Co-founder of Psychedelic Neuroscience and Therapy for the University of Michigan. His latest work is focused on the chemical compound DMT (N, N- Dimethyltryptamine). Together we talk about the neurological picture of the brain when DMT has been administered with ‘mental time-travel’ and ‘planning,’ and the many ways to measure the brain under psychedelics. Plus, we find out about ayahuasca.

And if you've listened to that intro, you can hear he ain't even got a job yet because he's a

0:19.0

student, isn't he? We're basically talking to children now that it's on Under the Skin.

0:23.2

But this is a child with a real skill set. I'd go so far as to say because he's

0:28.2

experimenting in the world of DMT, which fascinates me in particular because if you believe as I do

that we need a new dimension to the way that we organise our systems, from where do we derive

0:57.9

talking to people that are academic experts in fields of politics and philosophy, I think it's

1:03.0

important that we start to examine consciousness itself. But that's just what I reckon.

Here's some listener shoutouts and you're a listener. This is your shoutout.

1:16.5

Markey Allen says, I love your podcast. I love the diversity of topics and the many different

1:22.5

perspectives we get to hear. It really gets the hamps the wheel in my head turning. I love it. My

1:26.8

favourite so far has to be your conversation with Dr. Edith Eger. She's truly an amazing lady.

1:31.6

I remember her. She's like a Holocaust survivor. She's a brilliant therapist.

1:35.4

She's super moving to talk to someone so advanced in the years, so young,

1:40.4

in spirit, who has experienced personally such extreme historical tragedies and has emerged

1:46.9

from it in grace. Hey listen, if you're not a member of our mailing list community yet,
