Nothing in this world provides lasting happiness. In this podcast, Eckhart talks about how many of us

strive to become a bigger, better version of me. He explains we do this through a myriad of achievements, wealth, status, possessions.

Eckhart says it's like the person who believes buying a more palatial home will somehow

signify they've made it. He says when we're so invested in

outcomes we neglect the journey. He believes even spiritual seekers fall into this

trap when they chase after Enlightenment which becomes another form of ego.

He explains these behaviors are all a misguided quest for fulfillment and identity.

Encart cautions against looking for ourselves. and who we truly are has nothing to do with outcomes or achievements.

He says, our deepest selves are rooted in consciousness itself.

Eckhart describes it as the one transcendent source of all life.

He says, becoming aware of this dimension

is the only thing that will bring lasting fulfillment.

The essence identity of a way. fulfillment.

The essence identity of awareness, and we are penetrating more deeply now.

The essence identity of awareness has nothing to do with your personal history.

You cannot say, you can only get there

if you have fulfilled certain things in your past. Sometimes the most unlikely people can suddenly

awaken. People in prison for crimes can't suddenly awaken. Or somebody who has been practicing spiritual practices for many

many years perhaps can somebody awaken or the spiritual practice could prevent you from awakening

because you have used it in the wrong way.

Because you have used your spiritual practice

in your search for something in the future, something to happen to you in the future.
