Summary

This just in! Junkfood Cinema continues Octoburt with a newroom comedy that breaks the story (and a few hearts): Switching Channels.

From the Director of First Blood (what?!), Burt Reynolds is Ted Turner (basically) trying to run a 24-hour news TV station while also fighting feelings for his ace reporter/ex-wife played by Kathleen Turner. She falls in love with literally the only man handsome enough to make Burt Reynolds jealous: Superman.

Brian and Cargill bring you the headlines, the Michael Caine impressions, and the most Chicago junk food pairing to date!

How's it going, sir? It's going well.

1:09.3

Yeah, and we are switching channels, as you might say, back to a little series we were doing called Octobert.

1:17.0

A series of great films we love to talk about and for, unfortunately, for the saddest reason. Again, we lost Bert Reynolds, but we're celebrating some of our favorite movies that we haven't talked about yet.

1:29.2

And I think it's funny.

1:30.0

When we talked about doing this series on Twitter, people started throwing like, oh, I bet they're going to cover this, this, this, this, this, this, this.

1:36.3

The one movie I saw on no one's list is the movie we're talking about today.

1:40.1

Well, it's a movie that I've mentioned to several people over the last few months because I was reminded of it recently.

1:46.4

And it was, in fact, we were talking about, because we recorded a whole mess of episodes all at once so we could prepare for September because we had a very busy September.

1:55.5

And so we recorded our Superman episode over a month ago at this point.

2:03.1

Like when people are listening to this like six weeks ago.

2:07.0

It was a while back.

2:08.7

And while we were talking about it, it reminded me of switching channels.

2:12.8

And I had mentioned it.
